Kelly & Darren’s St Patrick’s & Thornapple Pointe wedding is a very special one to me, because I first encountered Kelly as a bridesmaid at her sister Kaitlin’s wedding! I’m always excited for wedding days, but I was so exciting to work with Kelly, Kaitlin, and her family again! It was also a little nerve-wracking!
I absolutely love traveling for weddings, so I was extra excited for Samantha and Matt’s Clinch Park Traverse City engagement session! As a Michigander, Traverse City is the PERFECT little weekend getaway destination. With adorable shops, great food, and TONS of wineries, it’s the perfect tourist town to relax in! My husband and I even spent our honeymoon here! So of course sneaking up north for a session was definitely a welcome suggestion!
One of my favorite memories as a kid is every Saturday after Mass, my family would go out to dinner. And when I say “my family” I mean my grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sometimes there were only 6 of us, and sometimes there were 18 of us. We have always been a weird family because, well, we like each other! My point is to say the star of today’s blog post is my gorgeous cousin Jenna!!
I mentioned earlier on their engagement session post that one of my many favorite things about weddings is how unique they can be to each couple. Samantha & James’ Cheney Place DIY glam wedding is an excellent example of this, because what made this wedding unique is that Samantha did a lot of the details herself! Plus the Cheney Place is set up so perfectly to begin with, it really made the day look so incredible! Add in the sunshine that we FINALLY got after the longest winter ever, and I was beside myself!
I’m technically a little behind on sharing Roz and Jon’s Provin Trails spring engagement session here on the blog. This adorable couple was, unfortunately, one of my many couples that were affected by the pandemic this year. They did not let that get them down, however! They decided to still get married on their original date as planned, with just a few of their VIPs in attendance! It was short, sweet, and incredibly emotional!
Next up on the wedding blogs from 2019 is Nick & Kara’s rustic Scheltema Barn wedding! As I pulled up to the venue that morning, we were threatened by dark clouds and rain. With the ceremony happening outside, that always ends up putting a bit of extra stress on the couple! However for these two, they were just so happy to be getting married I don’t think I saw it bother them at all! Such a sweet and easy-going couple, they were ready to celebrate the best day of their lives!
