Pete and Shasta’s session ended a very busy streak of sessions this past spring. Now they are ending a very busy streak of weddings this fall! And what a better place to finish out a banner season than at my favorite venue, Ivy House! They wanted to do something a little different and fun, so they chose to have a dessert picnic at the Highlands engagement session. I had never been to the Highlands before, but a friend of Shasta suggested it to her. It did not disappoint! When I got there, I counted no less than SEVEN other sessions going on, but I can clearly see why this park is so popular. It’s a golf-course-turned-nature-reserve, so there are lots of winding paths, beautiful trees, and overgrown fields. Match that with a beautiful evening and a couple who are madly in love, and you’ve got a photographer’s dream!

I feel like they chose the perfect outfits for frolicking in the fields!

It’s always in situations that I think “ah crap, I should have brought tick spray”… But maybe that just gives you something to do after the session 😅

When they scoped the park out, they found this tree that I’m pretty sure was planted and grown by a photographer. It was in the exact right spot!

Obsessed hahah!

They are getting married on Halloween this year, so this spooky tree leaned right into the vibes!

They also decided to bring along a few more props, like a bouquet of flowers and these sweet Polaroid camera. It was too cute!

Thanks for checking out Pete and Shasta’s picnic at the Highlands engagement session! Make sure you are following Jessie Silva on Facebook and Instagram to be the first to see their sneak peek!
Have fun!
