For those of you who have spent more than 5 minutes in conversation with me, you know that my time in Kansas was not the greatest years of my life. (Kansas City barbecue is a total myth and does not exist.) I questioned for years why we were stationed there. As time passed, it became clear that the star (stay tuned for the intended pun) of today’s dreamy celestial Kansas City wedding was one half of the “why”.
Megan and I met working in the trenches of a job with the third part of our group Jason – who makes a guest appearance as the officiant! I don’t remember how instantly we all became friends, but once it hit, the bond was tight. We hung out just about every weekend. With significant others included, I had never had group of friends like this! We’d spend hours laughing until we cried about anything and everything.
So when I found out that Phil proposed, I knew I had to pack my bags and watch my gorgeous friend get married <3
First off, Megan sent me a link to the dress she was looking at, and I about lost my mind. Covered in stars, it was custom made by the absolutely incredible Natalie Wynn.
Megan basically always channels an old-school movie star.
Check out her stunning engagement ring by Sofia Zakia!
While the girls got ready upstairs, Phil and his guys got ready downstairs.
Don’t you just love a groom in suspenders?!
Lake of the Forest Clubhouse has this GORGEOUS porch that was the perfect spot for their first look!
Each of Megan’s attendants dressed in the color scheme but found an outfit that best fit their personalities!
Every detail just looking amazing on Megan!!
And I cried happy tears because it was a perfect sunny October day!!
Probably my favorite photo ever <3
The ceremony took place under gorgeous trees at the edge of a lake, and Phil’s vows brought everyone to tears! (Check out the Best Man behind him!)
The lake was the perfect spot for sunset photos!
I mean CHECK out that TWIRL!!
A rare cameo of me, with the bride and Jason! Our little group <3
Phil is in a band and wrote a love song to his new wife as a surprise!
When he finished the song, he promptly ran off stage to put his guitar away, leaving Megan to cry tears of joy alone…so I went to comfort her ????
He eventually came back so she could cry on his shoulder instead haha!
Megan’s brother lit up the dance floor!
Phil is a huge KC Sporting fan, so we had to get the group with their scarves!
One final night shot on the front porch <3
