Hazy Grand Haven Engagement | Ashton and Jared

October rolls along as I hit the middle of my busiest season! It’s a good thing all of my couples this year are so amazing! Next up is Ashton and Jared at their hazy Grand Haven engagement session! We had their session right at the height of the wildfire smoke, so it was really touch-and-go if we’d have a pretty sunset or not. The haze was so thick that the sun just disappeared about halfway through, but these two kept the session fun and bright til the very end!

They wanted beach photos, and chose Grand Haven State Park. I love that there is a small patch of sandy dunes with grass to add variety!

I don’t know how I got so lucky that literally all of my clients are extra adorable?!

You can’t go to Grand Haven and not get the lighthouse in a few photos!

Time for an outfit change, just as the sun vanished behind the smoke. But it let me try some different angles I wouldn’t have been able to before! Ashton is giving golden goddess vibes for sure!

If you offer to get in the water, we will always get in the water!

Since the water was cold and Ashton was in that gorgeous dress, I coached Jared on how to pick her up and make sure he had steady footing and blah blah blah…. He had to prove he was strong enough by spinning her around and doing a few arm curls with her!

We were just finishing up when the pier lights turned on! I think this added another 15 minutes to the session haha!
