Well, I can’t imagine any of us thought the year was going to go the way that it did. So so many different industries were affected greatly, and of course, the wedding and event industry was hit hard. My year certainly did not end up looking the way I thought it would in January, but it turns out that might have been an even more beautiful thing! With so many weddings being forced to turn into small gatherings, it really helped all my amazing couples focus on the importance of what they’re doing, instead of just having a massive party. It’s one of the many reasons I love being a Grand Rapids Michigan wedding photographer. (Don’t worry though, I’m sure a lot of massive parties will be held this year to make up for it!!)
As always, I love taking a look back at all of the people who were a part of my business over the year! Similarly to the past few years, if you were one of my lucky brides or grooms, make sure to keep an eye on my Facebook and Instagram pages for an end-of-year giveaway!
I started the year with two incredible sunny engagement sessions at Provin Trails! In addition, the snow was perfectly sparkly! Hans and Alexandria were too precious together!
Words can’t express how adorable Tim & Emily are. Just look at their entire engagement session!
I was SO excited to head up to Traverse City for a quick getaway to capture Samantha & Matt!
Katie & Ryan were absolute troopers during their blizzard session!
Nekoda & TJ exchanged tearful vows this year during their stunning wedding at the Downtown Market!
Maggie & Jake got married on March 14th, two days before our world shut down. I’m so glad we got to have one last hurrah with them!
When things slowly started looking better, I was so glad to capture Dan & Hannah’s engagement session down in Indianapolis!
My cousin Alysse stopped by, so I could get some photos with her two adorable babies!
After what seemed like forever, and many postponed celebrations, Jake & Colbie were able to have their wedding during a break in the quarantine!
My precious niece turned 4 this year so I had to get some of her in her element!
Good genes run in my family – my gorgeous cousin Jenna married the man of her dreams!
Roz & Jon had to change their day to an intimate celebration, but that didn’t change the emotions at all! I can’t wait to blog this one, because her dad had the BEST first look reaction I’ve ever witnessed!
Dani & Alex were married on a beautiful day in August with a backyard celebration!
Dan & Hannah got married at the most gorgeous church I’ve ever seen, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Indianapolis!
After two years of marriage, Jim & Mckenna were blessed this year with a perfect baby girl!
Jordan & Jewell celebrated their anniversary by putting their dresses back on and going for a dip in Lake Michigan with me!
Emily wanted to gift her soon-t0-be husband with a special something before their wedding. She did SO well at her boudoir session, it almost made me consider adding them to my normal session offerings!
The best compliment is returning clients, like the Schwartz family! I took their portraits a few years ago, and they’ve grown by a couple of kids since then!
It was SO good to see this next family. That tiny but fierce woman in the middle gives THE BEST HUGS.
Three family sessions in a row? But there’s always time to squeeze in my own family!
Tim & Emily had to shift some things around, but were able to have a beautiful backyard reception for their small intimate wedding!
This was probably the most fun thing to capture this year – a proposal!!
My dear friend Jen and her adorable family stood in while I was waiting for the proposal to go down!
Earlier that day, Katie & Ryan celebrated their intimate wedding at Noto’s!
Did you miss last week’s blog post of this beautiful holiday glam styled session?
Mandy & Dylan, another one of my beautiful couples from two years ago was blessed with a baby boy!
With guidelines changing the WEEK of their wedding, Samantha & Matt finally had their intimate ceremony at the Meadows at Millennium Park!
To round out the year, one last family session!
Thank you so much to all of you for your support this year, and I look forward to celebrating more as your Grand Rapids Michigan wedding photographer in 2021!
