So, the past few months have been an absolute whirlwind! As soon as wedding season ended, I got to work behind the scenes on my new branding! It was an extremely difficult decision, but a long time coming – since my wedding over 8 years, to be exact! I loved my Schu’s Shoots Photography name and branding. Because it was so unique, I never had to worry about someone already having that name! Over the past decade, Schu’s Shoots has let me meet so many incredible clients and really grow in my skills and desires as a Grand Rapids Michigan wedding photographer! I started out as a “do everything” photographer, but realized that my heart truly lies with weddings!
With the new rebrand, I’m focusing solely on couples and weddings! As a result, I will be able to better serve you on your big day! Now it’s time to recap 2019, and looking back on my last year as Schu’s Shoots, it was another great one!
It started out in January during the Polar Vortex, with Ashlee and Bill at Provin Trails!
Brian and Valerie had a super cool and unique place for their session, and it also allowed us to avoid the cold!
Since Jeannie and Isaiah were getting married at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, they wanted to have their engagement session there as well!
My gorgeous cousin Haley allowed me to drag her out so we could play in the snow!
After that, Nekoda and TJ met up with me at the Outside Coffee Company!
Brian & Valerie had a whirlwind engagement with a gorgeous wedding in March!
Since it was Haley’s senior prom, I had to make time to take some more stunning photos of her!
Jeannie & Isaiah had a breathtaking wedding at the Grand Rapids Public Museum in the planetarium!
Despite the clouds, Robert & Katie’s day was a blast from the start and ended with an amazing rainbow right outside their reception!
Provin Trails was the perfect location for Roz and Jon’s gorgeous springtime session!
Nick & Kara had a beautiful outdoor ceremony, including a stunning sunset at their May wedding!
Jake and Maggie get married this March in Kalamazoo, so we had their session at the West Lake Nature Preserves!
Because their day was perfectly sunny, I shed actual tears at Samantha & James’ incredible wedding at the Cheney Place!
Since the extreme weather cut short Ashlee and Bill’s first session, we finished it up in the spring at the always perfect Prairie Wolf Park!
I got to scope out a new location downtown with Jackie and Charlie!
Since photographing her sister’s wedding, I was so excited to see the absolutely amazing Gaule family again at Kelly & Darren’s wedding in July!
The first of three cousins to get engaged this year, I took Jenna and Sam out to the beach!
The beautiful momma in this photo helped keep me sane this year, because she is a kind, caring, wonderful vet who helped save my kitties with major health issues!
Christian and Jordyn were so classy, they had a session that ended with them swing dancing!
I can NOT stop sharing images from Jordan & Jewell’s wedding day, because it was too gorgeous!
My parents have this gorgeous field in their backyard, so I had to take advantage of the fall blooms!
I was able to squeeze out one last summer session with the adorable Jada and Spencer!
I had a quick session with Libby at Prairie Wolf Park because she is a senior this year!
Dani & Alex were so cute during their fall session at Grand Ravines!
Stormy and Dylan were the winners of my engagement giveaway at the Fall Bridal Show, so we met up at Prairie Wolf Park for their session!
I always love it when clients bring their pets – like during Ben’s senior session!
Jackie & Charlie had the perfect fall wedding at Frederik Meijer Gardens!
It was a little rainy at Jake and Colbie’s engagement session, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time!
I caught up with the Nabkey family for some updated fall portraits!
The last wedding of 2019 was Bill & Ashlee’s – on my birthday!
Every year I update my OWN family’s portrait as well, including my brother and sister-in-law with their two adorable children! (Well, when they want to cooperate!)
My cousin Katie got married last year and had her first child this year!
Even though it was super cold, Kelsey and Jacque were quite the troopers for their beach engagement session!
Kevin and Erin were so much fun at their engagement session!
My husband and I went to Boston for Thanksgiving to visit friends, and had a couple of AMAZING sessions, for instance this one on the water!
After that, we had some fun with a boudoir session and milk bath!
In early December, my cousin’s baby finally made his appearance into the world!
Because of all my amazing supporters, I’m so excited to see what 2020 holds for me as your Grand Rapids Michigan wedding photographer!
