Downtown Grand Rapids Winter Engagement | Justin and Kayla

I know things have been off since 2020 in the wedding world, but this year has been actually one of the craziest schedules! Proof is that I have another November wedding! Justin and Kayla get married this Friday, and I am so excited to share their downtown Grand Rapids winter engagement session today! I met these two at a bridal show last year, and loved Kayla’s vision she had for their day. I can’t remember exactly what the words were, but it was something along the lines of Detroit waterfront bougie. I’m excited to see it all come together!

They wanted a winter themed session, and chose the classic feel of downtown Grand Rapids for their location.

When I got really excited is when Kayla said my favorite phrase – “we’re not very photogenic.” Once again, I got to prove them wrong!

It was freezing cold and a little windy, plus being right off the river, there was an extra chill. But despite the numb fingers, these two didn’t complain one bit!

It was around this point we discovered the sidewalk in front of the J.W. Marriot is heated! We definitely sat here for a minute or two to unthaw our fingers.
