I mentioned earlier on their engagement session post that one of my many favorite things about weddings is how unique they can be to each couple. Samantha & James’ Cheney Place DIY glam wedding is an excellent example of this, because what made this wedding unique is that Samantha did a lot of the details herself! Plus the Cheney Place is set up so perfectly to begin with, it really made the day look so incredible! Add in the sunshine that we FINALLY got after the longest winter ever, and I was beside myself!
The wedding was last June, but I want to say Sam might have sewed some extra bling on the bodice of her dress? Just look at how GORGEOUS it is!
I love a good wedding shoe, and while heels are fancier, no one sees them except the bride! So why not mix cute with comfort?? In fact, I’ve come to believe that the Keds x Kate Spade glitter shoe is the new Badgley Mischka!
Once the bride gets her dress on, it’s around this point the bridesmaids all start to ooh and aah. Of course this tends to get the bride really excited!
These two were so sweet to each other during their first look!
You can’t have a wedding at the Cheney Place and NOT take a portrait in this beautiful little room they set up! So we had to take a few 🙂
The Cheney Place is full of awesome vintage furniture like this couch. Of course it made Sam look like a queen!
The girls all looked amazing in their rose gold dresses!
Sam & James wanted to do a first look so we could have more time for portraits beforehand. The second floor of the Cheney Place is like if Ikea was a shabby chic dream!
????????????
I know we’re all dealing with like the worst year ever, but do you remember last year, when we had polar vortexes and an endless winter? Sam & James got married on the first day of summer, and it was the first day Michigan got nice weather and SUN. So when we went out for some sunset portraits, Sam was laughing at me because it was so gorgeous I actually started weeping!
I was so happy we were able to capture these!
We hadn’t seen the sun for MONTHS. Since it finally showed up, I couldn’t help but just to bask in it! Just look at how they glowed!!
Sam made all these incredible centerpieces herself!
This is one of the more impressive things I’ve seen at a wedding. The DJ played House of Pain’s “Jump Around” and James jumped for the ENTIRETY of the song.
Samantha had the perfect ball gown that was made to twirl long into the night!
Thanks for checking out Samantha & James’ beautiful Cheney Place DIY glam wedding! Now go make sure you are following Jessie Silva on Facebook and Instagram for the next blog post!
