Working on catching up with my blogging, I’m sharing Rebekah & Scott’s wedding Mildale Farms wedding in Edgerton Kansas! I had previously photographed the wedding of Rebekah’s sister Angela waaayyy back in 2010, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As luck would have it, just as I was moving to Kansas City, Angela’s sister was planning her wedding there!
Since they had so many guests from out of town, Rebekah & Scott wanted to make their wedding an all-day affair! The ceremony started just before noon, and was followed by their reception, with lawn games in the afternoon, the Deco Street Eats food truck for dinner, ending the night with a talent show! The threat of thunderstorms kept dramatic skies rolling throughout the day – and even surprised everyone with a shower in the middle of their outdoor ceremony! Rebekah & Scott were so thrilled to have everyone join them, they were able to keep smiles on their soaked faces all day long!
Rebekah’s dress was actually HANDMADE by a friend!
I love the moment when the groom always has to have the bride spin so he can check her out 😉
Scott & Rebekah live in California, but decided to have the wedding in Kansas so Scott’s grandmother could attend!
These next two photos… the bride and groom did have a First Look, but Rebekah still cried tears of joy at walking down the aisle…
…Scott couldn’t smile any wider at seeing his bride!! Just goes to show that a doing a First Look doesn’t have to ruin the “special-ness” of seeing each other before the ceremony 🙂
Right about here, Mother Nature decided to attend!
Everyone ran under the nearby balcony for cover, and the ceremony finished in the basement!
Someone also gifted the happy couple with this custom bobblehead cake topper!
After the lunch reception, it was free time for the guests to wander the grounds, play lawn games, and of course, for a ton of gorgeous photos 🙂
There may have been a small mishap with the golf cart, so the wedding party decided to reenact it 🙂
Love when my brides get this excited!!
What a classic beauty!
After portraits, the food truck showed up and the talent show began!
Despite the weather, Rebekah & Scott didn’t let it dampen their spirits!
