This week’s post is a look back at Maggie & Chris’s beautiful Weaver House of Pine Bend and City Flats Holland wedding!
I first met Maggie at a bridal show, and I remember she was SO excited about her venue. She showed me all the photos of the beautiful grounds and where her ceremony would take place. The Weaver House at Pine Bend is an adorable house with antique accessories and a gorgeous trellis perfect for weddings!
While their engagement session was chilly and rainy, their September wedding was warm and sunny! Perfect weather to get married in!
Maggie was totally into the antique feel of the house and had these cute vintage styled shoes!
While Maggie’s mom was there to help her get in her dress, she also wanted a special moment with her dad. So we set up a first look with the two of them!
Strap in because this is a super cool story. The woman that Maggie was named after (I think it was her great-grandma) had an unfortunate accident as a child that caused her to lose an eye. She had a glass eye, and her dad wanted her to “always have a sparkle in her eye”. He scrimped and saved a put a DIAMOND in her prosthetic!
After she passed, they had the diamond removed from the eye and made into a ring. Then, Maggie’s dad gave it to her on her wedding day! Kind of macabre, all sorts of cool 🙂
Maggie’s mom was speechless as she walked down the long staircase to the ceremony!
Instead of a unity candle or sand ceremony, they painted onto this canvas together! The “R” is made of masking tape for them to peel away!
Now THAT’S a first kiss!!
This is such a sweet picture to me, and really captures the relationship between Maggie and her mom!
That veil shot tho!!
The bride and groom wanted to head to Kirk Park for their wedding party photos. This place holds a lot of meaning for them, so of course we had to make it happen!
We’ve had better ideas than stopping at a busy beach on a beautiful Labor Day weekend. Luckily, we dealt with the crowds pretty well!!
The open field across from City Flats in Holland made for the perfect sunset portraits!
Taken shortly before Chris dropped her on the ground haha!
Party time!!
The reception was full of awesome dancers!
The one nice thing about the sun setting earlier during fall weddings is that I’m able to get awesome shots like these to end the night on <3
