Kelly & Darren’s St Patrick’s & Thornapple Pointe wedding is a very special one to me, because I first encountered Kelly as a bridesmaid at her sister Kaitlin’s wedding! I’m always excited for wedding days, but I was so exciting to work with Kelly, Kaitlin, and her family again! It was also a little nerve-wracking!
It can be quite easy to fall into a routine, so of course I didn’t want to do the exact same thing for Kelly’s wedding as I did for Kaitlin’s. Even though they are sisters, they are still quite different, so it wasn’t an issue for me! Kaitlin & Travis wanted a winter wedding, full of snow, with a woodsy campsite feel to it, whereas Kelly & Darren had a hot summer wedding at a golf club! Their days did have one thing in common though, which was the unpredictable weather! While Kaitlin’s January wedding was unseasonably warm and melted all the snow, Kelly’s July wedding happened during the hottest weekend of the year with a massive storm that knocked power out! Even without the weather mishaps, it was truly an unforgettable day!
This is maybe my most favorite dress photo ever, because Kelly’s house decor fit perfectly in with her details!
Is it even a wedding if you don’t have mimosas??
The guys got ready at the church,, where Darren read the letter that Kelly wrote to him beforehand!
No seriously, it was freaking HOT.
Kaitlin was super excited for Kelly to join the Wife Club!
I really don’t know how I get so lucky to have such gorgeous brides ????
I loved how cute and classic St. Patrick Parnell was for their portraits!
I loved that some of the girls had slits in their dresses, because it added the perfect amount of sass!
I am FOREVER heartbroken because after shooting Kaitlin’s and Kelly’s weddings, I was already booked for their brother Kyle’s wedding! And then Covid came and ruined everything anyway ????
I absolutely loved their adorable reception decorations! So simple, classic, and elegant!
As you can see in these images, the matron of honor and best man speeches had everyone cracking up!
It absolutely down-poured as soon as we got to their reception, but luckily the skies cleared up before sunset so we could still get some gorgeous images!
