As I’ve gotten older, I’ve definitely become one of those people who tries to avoid their birthdays. So when Ashlee & Bill contacted me about photographing their Bluff Banquet Center fall wedding, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my birthday! Photographing a gorgeous bride during a Michigan fall, AND she has a long veil? It just doesn’t get any better than that! Plus I still get cake at the end of the day haha!
Just this past October, James contacted me about this Byron Center fall proposal. He had a special date planned. It started off with a nice dinner, followed by a walk in the park and s’mores! We talked a lot about how to pull this off so as not to give it away when they arrived, but also since we had never met, how we would know where to meet up! James scoped out Douglas Walker Park that week, and gave me a detailed map! Waiting at the park, I saw them pull up and start to walk towards *THE SPOT*, and my heart started beating so fast!! The colors were perfect, and the sunset was absolutely incredible that night. He reached the spot, set down his basket and….
I’m going to be mixing things up a little bit more on my blog. On top of recapping my recent sessions and weddings, I’ll be adding in some tips and advice, as well as throwback posts from years ago! About 3 websites ago, I lost all of my previous entries from my time in Virginia, so today I’m throwing it back to one of my favorites! This modern glam Virginia wedding styled session was a collaboration between so many amazing vendors in the Hampton Roads area!
Another week, another blog recap! We are getting closer to rounding out my incredible 2019 weddings with Jackie & Charlie’s Frederik Meijer Gardens fall wedding! Frederik Meijer Gardens is a photographer’s dream to shoot at! With so many meticulously landscaped areas, both inside and out, it’s the perfect setting for any event! And Jackie & Charlie’s day was no exception! They had a few favorite spots picked out, but for sure knew they wanted to have their first look in the arid garden! I was so excited for this, because I love the southwestern vibe all of the succulents, cacti, and grasses give the room! Their ceremony took place under the breathtaking Chihuly chandelier, and was also the perfect backdrop to their reception!
